1. What Caullit Is
Caullit is a peer-to-peer prediction market protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain. It provides smart contract infrastructure that allows two parties to stake USDC on the outcome of a future event and have that stake settled automatically by an oracle or by mutual agreement.
Caullit is a protocol and a set of smart contracts. It is not a financial product, an investment vehicle, or a regulated gambling service. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial advice.
2. Eligibility and Restricted Jurisdictions
By using Caullit, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and that your use of this protocol is not prohibited by applicable law.
Access to Caullit is not available to persons located in or residents of the following jurisdictions: the United States of America, China, South Korea, the United Kingdom, or Australia. This list may be updated without notice. If you are located in a restricted jurisdiction, you must not use this protocol.
You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of this protocol complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.
3. How Predictions Work
A prediction on Caullit is a bilateral agreement between two parties — a creator and a challenger — in which each party stakes USDC on a defined outcome. The creator specifies the prediction terms, resolution criteria, and resolution source at creation time.
Eligible predictions in supported categories (currently crypto price predictions) may be resolved automatically by an oracle using publicly available data. All other predictions require both parties to submit their outcomes. If both parties agree, the prediction is settled. If the parties disagree, all staked funds are returned to their respective owners.
Only USDC on the Ethereum blockchain is accepted as stake. No other tokens or assets are supported.
4. Settlement Fee
A 1.5% settlement fee is charged on the total staked amount at the time of resolution. This fee is deducted from the payout to the correct party and transferred to the protocol treasury.
The settlement fee is only applied upon successful resolution. If a prediction is cancelled or expires without resolution, all staked funds are returned in full with no fee.
5. No Warranties
Caullit smart contracts are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the protocol will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from exploits or vulnerabilities.
Smart contracts are immutable once deployed. You acknowledge that interacting with smart contracts carries inherent risks including, but not limited to, loss of funds due to bugs, oracle failures, or network congestion. Use this protocol at your own risk.
Caullit has been designed with security in mind, but no audit guarantees the absence of vulnerabilities.
6. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the prediction title, description, and resolution criteria you create. Caullit does not adjudicate the meaning of ambiguous prediction terms.
You are responsible for ensuring the resolution source you specify is publicly accessible and authoritative for the prediction in question.
You agree to act in good faith when participating in predictions. Attempting to manipulate outcomes, submit false resolution data, or exploit protocol mechanics is strictly prohibited.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Caullit for:
- Money laundering, sanctions evasion, or financing of illegal activity
- Market manipulation or insider trading on prediction outcomes
- Creating predictions intended to deceive the counterparty
- Any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law
- Circumventing geographic restrictions through VPNs or proxy services
8. Oracle and Dispute Resolution
Caullit uses automated oracle feeds as the sole mechanism for resolving eligible predictions. There is no human arbitration process. If an oracle cannot verify an outcome, the prediction may be cancelled and staked funds returned.
For non-oracle predictions, resolution requires the agreement of both participants. If the parties submit conflicting outcomes, the prediction is automatically cancelled and all staked funds are returned. There is no appeal process.
By using Caullit, you accept oracle resolution as final and binding for all automated predictions.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction of incorporation of the protocol operator. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than litigation, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the protocol following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.
